First Day of School 2011

My Three Sons

These three were so excited for their first day of school that they were awake, ate breakfast, made their beds and ready to go before I even got up. It was awesome !!

Here is my little kindergarten boy. He is thrilled to be going to the same school with his brothers ! Coley even wanted to ride the bus his very first day. It shocked me, so I went to the school in my car to make sure that he got to his classroom safe and sound. (I think I did it to make myself feel better) Here is my second grader. Still loves to draw and play with his friends. He loves to learn and is always full of energy and silliness. Excited for his first day !!

Here is the big Fifth grader. I truly can't believe how big he is. He is such a great helper for me and loves to help his brothers and sister. It really makes a big difference when he is with me. He is ready to be a big kid already, I am definitely not ready for it !!

Spudman 2011

Last year I watched Birtley compete in the Spudman Triathlon. It was fun to watch him and made me think it would be a fun thing to do, as a team. So I would mention that in conversation to friends to find out who would possibly do it with me. I found some awesome girls to do it with me. I am definitely intimidated by the swim in the Snake River, but not Kortney she was excited to do it and she did awesome. Gillian ran her butt off too !! It was such a fun time.

Here is a picture of Birtley finishing at the very end. His finish time was approximately 2 hrs 35 minutes. Don't have the exact because his time chip fell off during his run without him even noticing.

Swim Lessons

The morning the boys started swim lessons everyone was so excited that they couldn't wait to put their swim goggles on and ended up eating breakfast with them on, it made me laugh !!! The boys all loved their swim lessons and I did too!!! They got to swim when the weather wasn't quite warm enough that I wanted to get in the pool. Everybody was happy !!

It shouldn't surprise any of you that this is what Rett decided to have his brothers do !!!! I am just surprised they haven't ever done it in our sandbox.

I haven't posted in a while so to keep this simple for me I am just gonna post once for several different things that have gone on around here.

We went on a hike Saturday night even though it was a short hike. The mosquitos were attacking us,it ended with all of us running, no really running back to the car. Everybody else got 1 bite. I ended up with 11. It was fun until the mosquitos found us. Carter found this "cute" little frog. (No I didn't get confused this is a pic of Cole holding the frog that Carter found)

Memorial Day Weekend was fun,wished that the weather would've been nicer so that we could've spent time doing something fun outside,but we just took a long ride seeing some small Idaho cities and viewing the awesome mountains and pretty scenery. I had my Birthday during the month of May and it was great, Birtley and I went to see WICKED on that Saturday night, a big group of us got tickets so it was fun to be able to go with so many friends all around us. We got all fancied up and had an amazing time that I will not forget !!

Had to put two pictures with everyone because they weren't being very cooperative about not being goofy, as you can tell.

I am so grateful for my husband. I love him so much. He is an extraordinary person that I get to have with me. He is so helpful with so much including the kids and cooking !!

These gorgeous flowers were waiting on my doorstep when I got home on Tuesday afternoon. It was such a great surprise from my husband.

Birtley needed to fix some stuff on his Mustang (he explained the logistics to me, but me being able to tell you is a whole other matter) and he had worked on it for three nights in a row. The cupboards were pretty bare so I desperately needed to go shopping. I opted for a late night instead of early morning store run. So him being the superman that he is he watched Macie and fixed the Mustang, so I could go alone. When I came home it was one of the sweetest things to see her watching her Daddy !!

I love Billy so much. He is so talented in the fixing "stuff" department. When I say he can fix anything I am not exagerating. Anything, he can fix vacuums, trampolines, skirt zippers, toilets, cars, bikes, flat irons. I have lost track. If anything is having a problem he can fix it !! Besides that he is funny and handsome (as you can see) Love that I get to go through life (this and the next) with him

This is the baby blanket that I made for my sister, Jessica's, new baby boy. I was so glad that I got to see a hold him for a few days when he was so tiny !! I forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it to her, but remembered while I was visiting her.

I haven't posted for two months and apparently I don't remember how to put the captions with the right photo. We have been doing good, just pretty busy. I am really too frustrated after helping Carter with his fractions homework for over an hour to figure this out, soooo here you go. I might fix it later or maybe not. You get the idea right ???

Cole frosting his cookies. We made sugar cookies for Valentine's, but of course he wanted to make trees and other random shapes that I had.

Macie wanted to help me with the dishes, I was letting her just play in the water with some cups when she decided she would actually load the dishwasher. It was so stinkin cute. She wants to be big so bad !!! The sad thing is when she is big enough to help with this she will no longer "want" to.

Machelle came and showed me how to curl my and Macie's hair, was so much fun and as you can see she looks precious !!!

In our family November into December gets really busy because we have Cole's Birthday on November 17th, Birtley's is on November 18th and then we have Rett's on December 5th. That's three in three weeks. It is fun and kinda alot. So I decided to be a slacker and just do one post for all three.
Rett had a Birthday party this year with a few friends. It was fun and crazy, he loved it !!!!

For Birtley's Birthday my amazing friends planned a surprise date for Birtley and I. It was really fun and creative. We went to several different houses and played a game from the show "Minute to Win It" at each house, it was awesome. They kept the kids, planned fun stuff for us and when we came back home there was dinner waiting for us. I seriously have the best friends here !! They are so incredibly nice to us.
Shelly had us race against each other to assemble our delicious dessert !!! The judges(her kids)picked mine, I think they felt sorry for me because it was so sad looking !!

We had a great Halloween this year. It is always so much fun to watch the kids have such a blast. It started on Thursday night with Trick or Treating at Carter and Rett's school. The fun continued on Friday night with a Trunk or Treat at our church. It was really fun !! Then on Saturday we went to the Zoo for the fun there and learned that Serval's (a small feline animal) like to eat pumpkins. There were tons of people and it was a fun time. The weather was great and we had such a great time as a family. Loved every minute of it !!!!!

This is my precious little girl. She is such a blessing and joy in my life. I can't believe she is Two, even though I have tried to treasure every moment the time somehow still passes by too quickly. She is so happy and brings such a sweet spirit into our home. (She is currently throwing a tantrum on the floor I want all of you to know, don't you just love it when they're 2) Happy Birthday Macie Rose !!!

Carly, Kam their kiddos and Julie came to visit us over the 24th of July. It was tons of fun !!! I LOVE it when people come and see us. It makes me feel so loved ! That they will actually travel (a pretty boring drive) so they can spend time with my little family.

Birtley completed the Spudman triathlon at the end of July. He swam a mile in the Snake River, rode his bike 25 miles and ran 6.2 miles. He did all of this in 2 hours and 41 minutes. What a stud!!! He loved it and the nut is looking forward to doing more.

Just being silly !

This was when we all (Me, Rett, Cole, Carter, Chrissy the dog and Cookie the cat) slept out on the trampoline. It was so much fun !!! It is one of my favorite memories from this summer.

After quite some time here are a few pictures from this summer. There will be more to come, soon I promise. As you will hopefully understand with four kids 24-7 I didn't have much time for posting stuff on the blog. Hopefully you all will forgive me !!

This is my new kitten, Cookie. I love animals, especially Cats and I have always had a cat for most of my life. I think I was about 5 when my parents got me my first kitten. Birtley doesn't love cats, so I have been understanding of that. I recently started begging for a kitten. He is AWESOME and loves me, so we got one. I love this little fur ball. She is so playful and my kids are totally obsessed with her. She is about seven weeks old and just teeny. She is so much fun. Loves to cuddle and play. I know this post may make me seem a little like a crazy cat lady, but oh well. I just love my new kitty !!!! and want family and friends to be able to see her while she is still little.

I turned 30 this past weekend, and although I was kinda dreading it. I couldn't figure out a way to keep it from happening. It started a few weeks ago with a trip to Utah to visit with my Mom and sisters. It was so much fun. I have really missed them ever since I came home. I enjoy mine and Birtley's family so much. The father and sons campout was on Friday night, so I got a night to myself with Macie. My wonderful friend, Whitney, made an awesome cake for me and we played games and had a really fun night. On Saturday, my birthday, I slept in and was kinda lazy in the morning. It was wonderful. Birtley and the boys were home about 10:30 and he had to clean up all of the camping stuff and car because everything was a mess. I was so glad that he took the boys, they were too. The boys were excited for a month. They love their Dad and camping out. The whole day was just great. Birtley took care of all of the kids and I just had a quiet day. We went to dinner that night at Old Spaghetti Factory, yummo !!! Did some shopping (Birtley is so great to me !!!!) and went to see Iron Man 2. It was a AwEsOmE day. Thanks to all my friends and family who helped to make it special.

I was in charge of one of the stations for Rett's Valentine's Day class party. I thought this little monster was pretty cute, so I was in charge of helping the kids make this. This one was the one I made as an example. My hat goes off to Kindergarten teachers. They have a really tough job. That many kids at one time is kinda crazy !!

There are 23 kids in his class. So we made 23 Valentine monsters. It was a ton of fun and work.

It is so much fun having a baby for the fourth time. She is such a happy little girl and just goes along with everybody else. She makes me smile all of the time. I think she is going to be quite the little clown. I just love her and all of the love she gives to everyone in our family. I am not alone in feeling adoration and love for her. Everybody in our house is so in love with her. She has everybody around here just loving that she is in our family.

Macie's hairdo is from the applesauce that she mashed into her hair when she had lunch just before her art project.

When Birtley and the boys were looking over a ledge Macie took off her glove and dropped it. Birtley and Julie climbed down to get it. This was Birtley looking up at the boys.

On Saturday after Julie got her beauty sleep we went for a hike up to Tablerock. It is pretty close to where we live. Only a 15 minute drive and you're ready to hike. I thought it would be fun to go to the zoo, but all of the boys wanted to go for a hike. They just love hiking and we haven't been for a while because it has been winter. The weather was just nice enough that with coats it wasn't too bad. It got a little muddy, but we still had a great time.

Julie comes to visit

My sister Julie came to visit me and it was so much fun having her visit. She flew in on Friday afternoon and then had to leave Sunday afternoon, so it seemed very fast, but was really fun. I was so glad that she wanted to come and see us. She is awesome with all of the kids and I just loved having her around. It was the week before Valentine's Day and she helped me help the boys make their Valentine's. We went old school and did homemade cards. It was fun ! I was so glad to have two extra hands to help. Thanks Julie!!!!

Becca and Jorgan Peterson gave us this for Christmas. It is a window from an old house with vinyl letters on it. The saying is really cool and thoughful and it looks great hanging in my living room. Thank you guys !!

Birtley gave me this awesome pictures for Christmas. He loves to surprise me and I really love that he does. It's the Salt Lake Temple. It is even prettier when you're standing right in front of it. He hung it up for me in the dining room and I can see it from the kitchen and the living room, so it's pretty perfect. I get to look at it a lot during the day. It is just gorgeous!!! Thanks honey !! You are the very best.

Merry Christmas !!!!

Did you notice the chocolate on her face at 6 in the morning? It was definitely Christmas!!!

Rett and Carter got a new game for their Nintendo DS, that was one of the first things they wanted to play with. Here they are, playing so intensely that they didn't even look up or notice me taking a picture of them.

Carter and Rett were sooooo excited to get a Wii for Christmas, they have had a great time playing with it. I am very surprised and impressed with Cole's guitar hero skills !!

All of the goodies !! Santa was very good to us this year. We had such a wonderful and perfect Christmas ! The day was full of fun and just enjoying all of the kids stuff and relaxing. We had really yummy sticky buns for breakfast, had a mid morning nap. Some boys were very excited for Santa and got up at 5:00 am. We all needed a rest after all of the opening presents and some good food. Our good friends, Petersons came over for Christmas dinner and we enjoyed wonderful food and friends that night. It was one of my very best Christmas' so far. It was just so much fun !!!

This is the cheesecake that was for Santa after he came, Carter had the great idea to leave carrots for the reindeer, he left a note for Santa so he wouldn't eat them. I thought it was really cute of him to think of that !!

Fun in the Snow !!!

BRRRRR, That's all I have to say about that !! I took all of the snowy pictures in about two minutes flat, I couldn't wait to get back inside. I do not love being in the snow. I love to sit inside and watch it come down and it is really pretty, but I like it from inside for sure.

Rett decided to make a huge snowball, he did not end up making a snowman, they just destroyed it after they made it really big, that's a boy for you.

Carter is obsessed with shoveling the snow. He really enjoys it, he will go out and shovel a few times a day on the days that it's snowing. He did everyone's driveway in our circle this day. I only hope that when he is older, he still likes it. Yeah right !!

The final score was Boise State 63 Idaho State 25. Boise State played an awesome game, there were seven turnovers. It was really exciting to watch.

Here is Birtley being a goofball. I actually told him to do it, and he will do just about anything to make me laugh!!!!!! I thought it was pretty funny, but maybe I've been at home with a bunch of kids too long ?!

What's not to love about sticking your hand in a slimy wet pumpkin and pulling stuff out? Cole thought it was cool.

You can tell by Rett's face that he thought this was great fun. All of the boys love it. They talked about carving the pumpkins for about a month, we bought them really early, because they were so excited. It is one of their favorite things about Halloween.

My friend Machelle took some family pictures for us. They turned out really cute as you can see. We took all day finding clothes for the picture and as all of you Moms know getting ready for pictures is an all day affair. It started to rain pretty sooon after we got there, so we didn't have very long. They turned out great though. Thanks Machelle!!!!
